Terms of service
Last updated: October 19, 2026
These terms apply when you use GlobalSwap at globalswap.io to compare offers and create swaps. They explain what we do, what the partner exchange does and what you are responsible for. Please read them before you create a swap.
Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data. Our AML and verification policy explains the partners' checks.

1. Who we are
GlobalSwap is the name of the service at globalswap.io. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean the operator of GlobalSwap.
You can reach us by email at support@globalswap.io or with a support request at globalswap.io/support.
2. What GlobalSwap does
GlobalSwap compares offers for swapping one cryptocurrency for another. The offers come from the partner exchanges we work with, not from the whole market, so other services may offer more.
When you choose an offer and press “Create swap”, we create your swap at that partner, through our own account with it. We then show you the address to send your coins to, which the partner gives us, and the progress of your swap.
We never receive, hold or send your coins. The partner, or the exchange it passes your swap to, receives your coins, carries out the swap and sends the new coins to the address you entered.
We sort the offers of one rate type by the amount you get, highest first; equal offers keep a fixed order of partners. Offers with the most coins are marked “Most coins”, and no partner pays us for a better place.
We don't give investment, tax or legal advice. Our help articles and the help assistant give general information only.
3. Who does what
Each swap involves you, the partner you choose and GlobalSwap. Each is responsible for its own part:
- GlobalSwap shows the offers, checks the format of your addresses, creates your swap at the partner you chose, and shows you the partner's address to send to and the status the partner reports;
- the partner, or the exchange it passes your swap to, sets the rate, accepts or refuses your swap, receives your coins, carries out the swap, sends you the new coins, runs its checks and makes any refund;
- you choose the offer, enter correct addresses, send your coins exactly as your swap's page shows, and keep your tracking link.
4. The partner's terms
The swap itself is a contract between you and the partner, under the partner's terms of use, privacy policy and anti-money-laundering policy. When you create a swap, you accept the partner's terms as well as these terms.
We link the partner's terms next to the checkbox you tick before “Create swap”. We link its terms and policies, where it publishes them, in the offer details and on the Partners page.
For the swap itself, the partner's terms decide. These terms cover your use of GlobalSwap and our own part. The partner's terms don't reduce what we owe you under these terms.
Each partner is a business that offers swaps under its own terms. Those terms may name the law and courts of another country. If you are a consumer, the law of the country where you live may still protect you.
Trocador doesn't carry out swaps itself. It passes each swap to another exchange, which the offer names together with Trocador's rating of that exchange's ID checks, when Trocador gives them.
That exchange's own terms can apply as well. We don't link them, so read them on that exchange's website before you create the swap.
5. Who can use GlobalSwap
You may create a swap only if you are at least 18 years old, you swap your own coins for yourself, and swapping cryptocurrencies is legal where you live and where you are.
Don't use GlobalSwap if you are subject to sanctions, or for coins from crime, to finance terrorism, to get around sanctions or for any other unlawful purpose. Our AML and verification policy explains this in more detail.
GlobalSwap doesn't verify where you are. Our hosting provider tells us the country of your IP address. We use it only to leave out partners whose terms exclude that country: Trocador for the European Economic Area and the United States, and ChangeNOW for the United Kingdom. SideShift.ai checks your country itself. If one of them doesn't serve you, its offer shows “Not available in your country”.
Each partner decides whom it serves, and some exclude whole regions. Before you create a swap, check in the partner's terms that it serves you. When we last updated these terms, for example:
- Trocador's terms excluded people in or from the European Economic Area and the United States;
- ChangeNOW's terms excluded people in or from the United Kingdom and India, and people in Russia or living there. They allowed ChangeNOW to seize the funds of excluded users;
- ChangeNOW's terms let people in or from the United States use its service only with their own ChangeNOW account, which a swap through GlobalSwap doesn't create;
- ChangeNOW's terms also required people who live in the European Union to verify their identity before using its services;
- SideShift.ai's terms excluded people from the United States, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Saint Kitts and Nevis and Syria, and allowed personal use only;
- several partners excluded countries under sanctions and countries where cryptocurrencies are banned.
6. How a swap is created
You choose the coins, their networks, the amount, the rate type and an offer. You then enter the address that should receive your new coins, a memo if that address needs one, and a refund address, which SideShift.ai requires and we recommend. Some partners can't add a memo for some coins. If the partner you chose can't add a memo you entered, we don't create the swap with that partner.
Before you create the swap, the summary shows what you send and get, the rate, the rate type, the partner and whether it may ask for ID. You can correct your entries with “Change” or in their fields.
You then tick the checkbox to accept these terms and the partner's terms, and press “Create swap”. We create your swap at the partner. When the partner accepts it, your swap's page opens with our swap ID and the partner's swap ID.
Your swap's page is our confirmation that the swap was created. Creating a swap doesn't oblige you to send coins or to pay anything. If you don't send coins, the swap closes by itself.
With your swap, we store the date of the version of these terms you accepted, and when you accepted it, but not a copy of the text. The website sends no emails. Save or print these terms if you want to keep them.
These terms and the screens for creating a swap are in English and German.
7. Offers, rates and amounts
Offers come from the partners and change with the market. The amount under “You get” is the partner's amount, with the partner's fee, our commission and the network fee for sending you the new coins already taken out.
Values in other currencies, such as euros, are estimates. They are never part of a swap's terms.
Variable rate: the amount shown is an estimate, and the partner sets the final amount when your coins arrive, so it can be higher or lower. Fixed rate: you get exactly the amount shown if you send exactly the amount shown and it arrives within the partner's time limit.
Your swap's page shows a time limit only when the partner gives one.
An offer is valid for a short time only. If it has run out when you press “Create swap”, we check the offer with the same partner again. We never switch you to another partner or rate type.
If the new amount is the same or higher, we use it. With a fixed rate, we ask you to accept any lower amount first. With a variable rate, we ask before creating the swap only if the new estimate is more than 0.3 % below the amount you accepted. If the partner then confirms an amount more than 0.1 % below the amount you accepted, your swap's page asks you to accept it first.
With Trocador, we also ask you first if another exchange would now carry out your swap, or one with a worse rating for ID checks.
The partner's answer can still differ from the offer. If the partner asks you to send a different amount, or offers you less than you accepted, your swap's page shows “Check the final terms”. With a variable rate, a drop of up to 0.1 % is accepted without asking you.
The address to send to appears only after you accept the new terms. If you don't accept them, don't send anything: the swap closes by itself.
Partners set minimum and maximum amounts for each pair of coins, and we may set narrower limits for some coins. The swap card shows the limit that applies. If your amount is outside the limits, nothing is created.
8. What you're responsible for
Crypto transactions can't be reversed, so check everything before you send. You are responsible for:
- entering a receiving address that belongs to you, such as your own wallet or your account at an exchange, for the coin and network you chose, and the memo if that address needs one;
- entering a refund address, especially if you send from an account at an exchange, because coins sent back to such an account may not reach you;
- sending exactly the amount shown, of the coin shown, on the network shown, to the address shown, with the memo if one is shown, and within the time limit if there is one;
- sending to that address only once, and only for this swap;
- keeping your tracking link, your swap ID, the partner's swap ID and the transaction ID from your wallet;
- giving the partner correct information if it asks you for any;
- any taxes on your swaps;
- keeping your seed phrase, private keys and passwords to yourself. We will never ask for them.
9. Risks you should know
Crypto prices can change quickly. With a variable rate, you can get less than the estimate. Network fees and waiting times can rise when a network is busy.
No one, including GlobalSwap and the partner, can reverse a transaction once its network has confirmed it.
Coins sent to a wrong address, on a wrong network, of a wrong coin or without a required memo can be lost. A partner can sometimes recover them, usually for a fee, but not always.
Our check of your address can only tell whether it looks right for the network. It can't tell whether the address is yours, or whether your wallet supports the coin.
A partner can delay, pause or stop a swap, for example for a check. Networks can have outages or change their rules, and partners can close.
10. Checks and verification
Partners run anti-money-laundering checks under their own policies and the law that applies to them. A check can happen at any time. A partner may pause a swap, ask you for an ID document and where your funds came from, refuse the swap or return the coins.
Some partners ask people who live in certain countries to verify their identity before any swap. For example, when we last updated these terms, ChangeNOW's terms required this from people who live in the European Union and several other countries.
How long a check takes depends on the partner. Some partners' terms allow them to hold the coins for as long as the check needs, and to keep them in cases their terms describe.
We don't decide these checks and can't release a paused swap. We help you understand what the partner needs and how to reach it.
11. Cancelling and refunds
Changed your mind before sending? Don't send anything, and the swap closes by itself. Once you have sent coins, you can't cancel the swap, and we can't stop it.
Because a swap's price depends on crypto market prices that the partner can't control, there is no 14-day right of withdrawal for a swap under EU consumer law.
If you send another amount, or your coins arrive late, the partner's terms decide what happens. Usually it swaps the coins at the rate of that moment, or sends them back.
If a swap can't be completed, the partner makes the refund under its terms, usually to your refund address or to the address you sent from. The partner may deduct fees, such as network or service fees; its terms say which.
We can't make refunds ourselves, because we never hold your coins.
12. Fees and how we earn
We don't charge you a separate fee. Partners pay us a commission for swaps made through GlobalSwap. It is part of the partner's rate, so it is already taken out of the amount you see.
The commission differs by partner. For some partners, such as SideShift.ai, we choose its level within the partner's limits, and a higher commission means a lower amount for you. We don't use the commission to sort offers.
The amount through GlobalSwap can differ from the amount on the partner's own website. The network fee your own wallet charges for sending your coins is not included.
13. Your swap's page and support
Each swap has a private tracking link. Anyone who has the link can see the swap's details, including your addresses, so keep it safe. We can't send you the link again, because we store only a scrambled version of its code.
When your swap is done, “Download receipt” on your swap's page opens a receipt that you can print or save. The website sends no emails.
We delete a swap, with its page and receipt, 7 days after it ended, or 7 days after you created it if it is still waiting for your coins. Every swap is deleted 30 days after you created it at the latest, also one paused for a check. We keep a swap longer only if we need it to meet a legal duty or for a legal claim.
Our privacy policy says how long we keep support requests and other data. Deletion runs once a day, so it can take up to about a day longer than the periods stated.
After deletion, we can no longer look up your swap or your request, so keep your own records. The partner keeps its own records under its policy; you can reach it with the partner's swap ID.
Our support explains your swap and helps you reach the partner. It can't change, cancel, release or refund a swap. We reply on your support request's page, and we can't promise a time for our answers.
The help assistant answers from our help articles, or with an AI model when it says so. Its answers can contain mistakes and are not advice. Your swap's page and the partner's terms are what count.
14. Availability
We can't promise that the website, an offer or a partner is available at all times. We may add or remove partners, coins and features, and we may limit or pause the website for maintenance or during a problem.
Partners can pause, change or end their services. A swap you already created stays with its partner, which handles it under its terms. Your swap's page shows how to reach the partner.
15. Using the website fairly
Don't attack or overload the website, try to get around its limits, collect offers or other data with automated tools at scale, or use GlobalSwap in a way that harms other visitors or the partners.
We limit how many requests one visitor can make in a short time, and we refuse requests above those limits. If we learn that a swap may break the law or these terms, we may tell the partner and stop helping with it.
To protect you, we automatically remove anything that looks like a seed phrase or private key from support messages. The message then shows that we removed something.
16. Liability
We are liable for damage we cause you, as the law that applies to these terms provides. We don't exclude or limit that liability.
The partner, not GlobalSwap, is responsible for carrying out the swap, for your coins while it holds them, for its checks and for refunds. We are not liable for what a partner or a network does or fails to do, or for your own mistakes, unless we caused the damage as well.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
17. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example when the law, our partners or our service change. We publish every change on this page, with a new date. The new version applies to swaps created after that date.
Because you have no account with us, we can't tell you about changes personally. A swap you already created stays under the terms you accepted. If you need that version, ask us.
18. Applicable law, courts and complaints
These terms are governed by the law of the country where you live. You can take legal action against us in the courts of that country, and we can take legal action against you only there.
If you have a complaint, please tell us first at support@globalswap.io or with a support request. For complaints about the swap itself, contact the partner; we help you reach it.
